Scenic Adair Co., KY: Rooflines, Memorable Old Columbia

2008-04-11 - Reed Street aspect, Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo By Pen.
ROOF LINES and COMMUNICATIONS DISH, seen from Reed Street in front of Burton Tin Shop present an interesting set of patterns, juxtaposing the very old with the very modern with the very old again. In the foreground is the tin shop, to the left are the rear rooflines of First & Farmers National Bank with the dish on top, and to the far right, the Jeffries Building, a true four story structure, which seems higher. The top floor was once the Columbia Masonic Lodge assembly hall. The view from the top floor may be the most unforgettable one anywhere in Adair County. The building is owned by David and Eva Rigney and now houses their Radio Shack dealership, which fronts on the Square.Clicking Read More assesses the "Today, Friday, April 11, 2008" feature.
