Work continues on Road 80 Bridge Construction

2008-03-05 - KY E80, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. ColumbiaMagazine.com photo.
JONES-BOURLAND CONSTRUCTION WORKER MELVIN SALYER, PAINTSVILLE< KY, was on the job yesterday when the small Chevy Aveo crashed yesterday into a pickup truck and and caused a chain reaction involving four unoccupied vehicles. "None of us saw the crash," Salyers said. "We were all working in the creek." Salyers said, adding that there were seven workers on the job when the crash occurred. Kentucky State Police were hoping that an autopsy today, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, would determine when the driver of the vehicle, Bridget Karnes of Columbia, died--before or after the crash.
