Harriette Arnow was famed KY author

SOMERSET COMMUNITY COLLEGE will host the 6th Annual Harriette Simpson Arnow Conference on Appalachian Literature and Culture on Friday, April 11, 2008. The theme of this year's event will be "One Hundred Years: Celebrating Harriette Arnow's Enduring Themes." Arnow, pictured here, is most often remembered as the author of the novel "The Dollmaker." Special guests will include author Sidney Saylor Farr, Appalachian poet Marianne Worthington, EKU professors Charlie Sweet and Hal Blythe, author Gurney Norman, and Arnow scholars Sandra Ballard and Haeja Chung.
