Downtown Columbia construction underway: Judicial Center

WORK BEGAN this week on construction of the new 35,000 s.f. Adair County Judicial Center. Branscum Construction, the project's construction manager, is on site, and Pyles Excavation is preparing the building site. The building is expected to be completed in late 2009. Diagonally across the intersection on the right is Columbia City Hall, which is scheduled to get an addition and a new facade later in the year. On the right is Monroe Street. The project is directed by the Adair County Project Development Board, which includes Adair County CJE Ann Melton, chair, and members Fifth District Magistrate Billy Dean Coffey, Circuit Court Clerk Dennis Loy, Circuit Judge James G. Weddle, Columbia Attorney Marshall Loy, and Douglas Teague, representing the Administrative Office of the Courts.
