Somerset Community College Project BEAM in Russell Co.

2008-01-17 - Russell County, KY - Photo By David J. Cazaet, Jr..
The Somerset Community College Project BEAM program in Russell County works closely with the Russell County Adult Education Program to help adults and farm workers get their GEDs and get started in college. The program also provides a small stipend for students working on obtaining their GEDs after they obtain their diplomas. In this photo three BEAM participants work with the instructor to prepare for the GED test. Shown here from left to right are: Amy Eastham, who is working toward getting her GED; Destin Perkins, who has already gotten his GED and is currently taking his basic college classes at the SCC Russell Center; Tita Riggins, who is a Project BEAM administrative assistant; Carol Severns, who is a Project BEAM instructor; and Colton Collins, who has also obtained his GED and is ready to begin his college education. For more information about SCCs Project BEAM call 270-866-7520.
