Larry Smith photo from the past: Old Greensburg, KY RR tunnel

2008-01-07 - Greensurg, KY - Photo By Larry Smith, WAVE FM 92.7.
LARRY SMITH FOUND LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL: The South Central Kentucky historian, photographer, and news anchor at the WAVE 92.7 radio, took the photo above 13 years ago, and writes, "Here's a photo of the old train tunnel in Greensburg. I took this photo in 1994 after the tracks had been removed." The tunnel is located on the south side of US 68, the Campbellsville Road, between the Greensburg Square and the new Greensburg Bypass/Hodgenville Road intersection. For other Larry Smith photos at ColumbiaMagazine.com, enter his name in the search box. His earlier photos of the Spurlington Train Tunnel in Taylor County drew widespread viewers, and an increased interest in the history of railroading in South Central Kentucky.-Ed Waggener.
