2007 Wal-Mart Veterans Program : Steve Parson recalls start

Wal-Mart Department Manager Steve Parson Gradyville, KY, remembers when the first Veterans Day Breakfast was held. "We set it up with a couple of tables in the front," he said. "It was brief," he added, "but it's gotten bigger every year." Small touches are added, he said, like the the slide show to the right. When the photo was processed, luck had it that one of Adair County's most revered war heroes, Sampson Yarberry, was on the screen. The attendance this year was almost ten-fold what it was when the first Wal-Mart Veterans day was held.
