Postcards from distant past: Chappells milk, from Larry Smith

2007-09-06 - Company no longer exists, plant was in Campbellsville, KY - Photo Photo of Ad by Larry Smith. Larry Smith, news anchor at WHVE FM 92.7 The Wave and South Central Kentucky historian, sent this picture of a postcard from a company which no longer exists but is a treasured memory for thousands of South Central Kentuckians and writes: <"Here's a true postcard of our past. This postcard for Chappell's Milk Company of Campbellsville dates back to the1960's.The Chappells Milk was owned by the Chappell family of Taylor Countyuntil the late 70's. This milk company had the best slogan of any company that I have ever hear in all of my years of playing commercials on the radio: It may be good and not be ours---But it can't be ours and not be good. Chappell's Milk was sold to the Flavo-Rich Company, which operated out of Campbellsville until the 80's. I hope you enjoy another piece of our past." The Wave
