Birds of Kentucky: From 1st Adair Co. hummingbird whisperer

2007-09-02 - Columbia, KY - Photo Old Coddger.
AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PICTURE: If Carson McCullers had seen this portrait, the title of her book could well have been "Reflection in a Hummingbird's Eye." An Adair County sunrise reflected in an avian eye is visible, and under magnification, it looks like a whole landscape is mirrored. Old Coddger has to county's first hummingbird whisperer. Some people have souls which allow close communication with creatures. The late Billy Day of Adair County was said to have had the power to talk to and calm, and harness the wildest horse. And, for the record, John Rarey, president of FaxCard, Inc., Columbia, KY is a near kinsman of the prototype horse whisperer, John Solomon Rarey. This photo is proof that Old Coddger does, indeed have the power.
