Huge bragging rights: CUC wins Wooden Bucket Award!

2007-08-31 .
Accepting the coveted Wooden Bucket Award from KRWA President David Peterson, are, from left, Columbia Utilities General Manager Jim Williams; Columbia Water Superintendent Dana Rogers; City Water Plant manager and new Chief Water Operator of the Adair County Water Plant, Larry Rooks; and and Columbia Gas Superintendent Joe Hare. Somewhere in heaven, the late James Lewis Moore, who was so proud of Columbia Utilities, is sharing the moment, with this validation, savoring a glass of Columbia Water, saying, "Ah, RC- Russell Creek - the best there is." Mr. Moore was served as Columbia Utilities General Manager in the 1950s and recognized early on that the best tasting water on earth is served in Adair County. The Wooden Bucket Award was presented at the Kentucky Rural Water Associations (KRWA) 28th Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition held in Louisville, Kentucky, at the Galt House.
