Tearoom building exterior changes colors

The tearoom and coffee shop Steve Hingle and family are opening was a busy scene Tuesday, with a new, softer exterior paint scheme. The scene was busy with ladders, scaffolding, and a crew of Hingle men tackling the job. Mr. Hingle says the new business should be ready by October 1. He's had to change the target date twice, but from the looks of the interior, and the detail to the whole appearance, it would promises to be worth the wait. The back of the building has been painted to make it more inviting for customer access from there, and, he says, he hopes to add a balcony, and outside dining tables. Cafe du Monde fans will appreciate a Jackson Square menu treat: There may be beignets, in addition to cafe au lait, at the Columbia restaurant with a hint of Louisiana in it.
