Paving, widening will start in days on Neat Hollow Road 2007-07-23 - Grants Country Corner Store, Ella, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. Residents of Neat Hollow Road received a ceremonial check for $164,580.00 presented by Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton Monday afternoon at Grant's Country Corner in Ella, KY. The check had been presented to the judge Monday morning by Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary Bill Nighbert on behalf of Governor Ernie Fletcher to widen and pave Neat Hollow Road from KY 206 in Ella to the Little Cake Road. From left are Earl Neat, June Neat, Arlo Neat, (Ann), Edward Brown, Shirley Brown, Tina Pyles, Teddy Pyles, Jerry Padgett, and Carolyn, all of whom, except the CJE are residents of the road. "You all have traveled on gravel too long," Judge Melton told the recipients. CJE assistant Lisa Lee secured easements for the widening at the event. Work will be underway as soon as an MOA or Memorandum of Agreement, is received by the county, authorization for the CJE to sign is made by the Adair County Fiscal Court, and Judge Melton signs and returns it.
