At the Nars: The Mayor Frankie Burton barrel bell

There's aren't many places like Mayor of Burton Ridge Frankie Burton's at the Nars on Burton Ridge. Above, the Burton boys, back, prepare to demonstrate the barrel bell to CM photographer Pen and his sons. The bell is at the highest point on Frankie's Farm on Tower Road at the Nars on KY 206. The showplace will come alive today when the Frankie Burton and Steve Slinker hold a huge cookout. In the background is the famous Buick Roadmaster which belonged to Burton's father, Delmer Lee Burton, and behind that, the Mayor's lodge. It has, not a carport, but a hammock-porch, a symbol of philosophy as much as it is an architectural one.
