South 55 Roadside Park: $1,000 check brings smile

Richard Phelps, who spearheaded the drive to restore the South 55 Roadside Park listened as Bank of Columbia President Robert Flowers explains how Phelps had convinced him to help the park. Whether it was Flowers' humor or the $1,000 check he presented on behalf of the bank, in honor of Richard and Mary Beth Phelps, the occasion produced a smile. Dedication of a walking track and park benches took place Thursday, July 19, 2007.
