Another of Larry Smith's Pictures from the Past: Penn Mercantile Co. (Penn's General Store) at Mannsville, Taylor County, KY. This is the only known photo of this store and dates back to the late 50's. The store was totally destroyed by the April 3, 1974 tornado. The entire town of Mannsville was devastated after the tornado completely leveled all but one or two buildings. The only business that survived the tornado was the O.K. Grocery, which sat directly across the street from Penn's Store. This photo well represents a little piece of our past history .Larry Smith, 92.7 The Wave "Doin' some good in the neighborhood."
