Green River Lake is beautiful, especially at this point near the Lone Valley Ramp in Taylor County, near the Adair County line. Already appreciated for its scenery, fishing, recreation, and flood control, the lake is now proving invaluable as an almost unlimited supply of water for the communities surrounding it, especially Adair County, whose new $14 million water treatment plant will begin operations sometime in the next 2-3 months.
