Promoting Adair County: Canvas for a fertile mind

2007-06-17 - Looking north from KY 61 South, Columbia, KY - Photo The O.C..

Can't you just see it? The promotion to be painted on the Bomar Heights onion water tower? Heavy thinkers at the Columbia Utilities Commission have concluded that their water tower high atop Bomar Heights is the most striking landmark greeting northbound KY 61 travellers descending Grider Hill Pass. They think it should be gainfully exploited to establish Justice, insure domestic prosperity, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare of Columbia and Adair County, and secure the Blessings of Commerce & Tourism through advertising. This should be a fairly easy mandate to fulfill, with more and more Adair Countians in the advertising bidness, already publishing something on a weekly or more frequent basis. It ought not be too tall an order, even though some if our county's most creative minds may have already been tuckered out to come up with the great Parks & Rec logos, and too anxious to ideate more until after P&R Logo Judgment on Thursday, June 21, 2007, at 6:30pm. For now, there are no prizes, no contests, but any ideas can be forwarded to ColumbiaMagazine.com for forwarding to The Commission.
