Adair County Road Department at work on Paradise Lane

The Adair County Road Department used a 7-12 Athey Force Feed Loader from CMI Equipment for the first time this morning, taking up dirt from the roadway after ditching along the roadside on Paradise Lane (Adair County District 3) this morning, Monday, May 29, 2007. It was the first action for the equipment, which is being leased for three months from CMI Equipment. Judge Ann Melton said that the county will probably buy the $49,000 machine after a three month, $7,000 a month trial lease is complete. "Most of the money, 95% of it," she said, "will go toward the purchase price. We think it will prove its worth this summer." A representative of CMI, by loader, was in Adair County today to help the ACRD with any problems with the equipment's inaugural work.
