That Perfect Day: Pat Bell calls it Red Letter Day

2007-05-16 - Adair County Elementary School, Indian Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
Columbia Mayor Pat Bell. always a platform favorite, quipped that he had told Superintendent Darrell Treece, "We haven't had rain in 20 days," he said he said, "and then Governor Fletcher comes to town and we're blessed with a shower." Rain had threatened the celebration, but the skies brightened by the time the Governor arrived. Mayor Bell said, "This is a red-letter day for Adair County." Amused by the Mayor's story are, from left, background, Highway Commissioner Marc Williams, State Senator Vernie McGaha, and on right, Superintendent Darrell Treece.
