Gov. Fletcher visit Feb. 16, 2007: Heartland Pkwy progress

2007-02-18 - Adair County Annex - Photo By Ed Waggener.
Over $40 million dollars are committed to the new Heartland Parkway, which will connect the Louie B. Nunn/Cumberland Parkway at Gertrude Browning's in Columbia, KY, with the Bluegrass Parkway north of Springfield.

The lower orange rectangle shows the $22 million Columbia Western Bypass. Governor Fletcher announced that the contract will be awarded in late March 2007, with construction to follow almost immediately.

The higher orange rectangle is in Campbellsville, and shows the $18.7 million contract which has been awarded to widen KY 210 and KY 55, initiating the construction of the Heartland Parkway in Taylor County. The project is also known as "The Campbellsville Connector."

The wide horizontal green lines traversing Adair County in the lower part of the map represent the Louie B. Nunn Parkway, which will be resurfaced from the Jones Chapel Road overpass at Gradyville to the Russell County line. A ceremonial check for $9.789 million for this project was presented during Governor Fletcher's visit February 16, 2007.
