Christmas in Columbia 2006: The angel over the manger

Even before the judges made their decision--even with all the wonderful floats entered--it was evident that the Pickett's Chapel UMC float, "Christmas Past, Present and Future: Christ is Christmas," was a very special effort. Above, Ann Smith, in the role of the angel over the manger, with mechanical angel wings uplifted, is part of the scene, "Christmas Past, Christ is Christmas. the newborn Christ." The cross in the foreground is part of the scene, "Christmas Present, Christ is Christmas, with the symbol that Christ is still suffering for us today." After the refreshments, the church will hold Sunday School and the Sunday morning services with Rev. Ronnie Turner, the pastor, preaching.
