Banking boom: Another branch bank on N. KY 55

2006-11-24 - KY 55 North, Columbia, KY .
What will be the second of two (or three?) branch banks in less than one-quarter mile of Campbellsville Road: Bank of Columbia President Robert Flowers said that a new drive-in only branch bank will underway just after the first of 1907. It will similar in size to the bank's branch on Reed Street, and its architeture will be from the same school as the branch on Jamestown ST. The branch will have four bays, with three teller lanes and one ATM lane. The bank site includes eight acres on the old Montgomery farm. The branch will give the Bank of Columbia four locations. United Citizens Bank is building a full service branch just a few hundred yards south, it's second location. And, in between the Bank of Columbia and United Citizens Bank, the First National Bank, which now has three locations, owns property. (Haven't reached a spokesman from First National Bank, yet.) The intersection is KY 55 & 551. Over the sign is the new Adair Animal Hospital; on the left ridgeline is Sandusky Steel.
