Interchange completion work creates traffic jam on LBN

WEST-BOUND MORNING TRAFFIC WAS BACKED UP FOR OVER HALF AN HOUR ON THE LBN WAITING FOR A BREAK in the work on ramps for Columbia's new exit to the Louie B Nunn (Cumberland) Parkway. Columbia's second (southwest) exit and the widening and straightening of KY 61 have caused months of traffic jams and confusion, but that is about to end. With the warm weather, work is in high gear toward completion of the ramps, and the final piece of the Hwy. 61 straightening which will soar up over what used to be the old drive-in theater field. The overpass in the background is KY 55 by KSP post 15.
