Deep Cut about done, Grider Hill, new Columbia-Chattanooga RD

The Big Cut through Grider Hill almost done. The deep cut through Grider Hill is almost done. Dozens of pieces of heavy equipment are dramatically changing the construction site on an hourly and daily basis. A best estimate is that the new stretch of KY 61 and the LBN/KY 61 interchange will be open in less than two weeks. The new stretch will cut several minutes off the trip to Chattanooga, TN and points beyond. Already, the route saves from 90 to 105 minutes off 1-75/ Knoxville path to the fourth largest Tennessee city. The view is toward the south.
