Adair Florist Building came down Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006

2006-10-31 - Adair Florist Building, Merchant ST - Photo By Ed Waggener.
PROGRESS WHICH SHOULD BRING SMILES to the faces of the Project Development Board Boys. This morning, there was a two and one-half story Adair Florist house here. At this stage, early in the afteronon on October 31, it was a nine-foot high pile of rubble with Billy Starnes of Pyles Excavating, Inc. flattening it further. The third building on the new Adair Justice Center, the Adair Muffler Shop, was next in line, according to Daniel Keen, also with Pyles Excavating. He thought there was a chance it would be leveled today, as well, but later, the decision was made to raze that structure on Wednesday morning. The brick building on the left is the Columbia-Adair County Fire Department building. The blue barn is on the western edge of the Columbia City Cemetery.
