Some Friends of Library founding members

The Friends of the Adair County Public Library include these founding members. Front row, from left, Tillie Shelton, Jane Grant, Mary Keltner; second row, Candice Robertson and Vicky Compton; back row, Charlotte Chandler and Martha Blankenship. The photo was taken following the Thursday, September 28, 2006 meeting. The group is moving ahead with with incorporation as a 501(3)(c) non-profit corporation, which will be able to accept tax deductible gifts. At present, gifts and memberships are paid directly to the Adair County Library. Already, over 35 persons are members of the group. Yearly memberships are $10 for individuals, $15 for families, teenage memberships 12-18 are $5, and under 12 are free.
