AERIAL ACES: A dramatic view of Adair County Elementary

2006-08-19 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Greg Thomas. Greg Thomas took this dramatic photo of the new Adair County Elementary School earlier this week. Work on the school is going at a feverish pace, as the project nears completion. Delays in construction have resulted in postponement of school opening by two and one-half weeks already. The Adair County School Board voted at its last meeting to delay opening day until August 28, 2006. Schools were originally set to open August 10, 2006, then for August 24, and now, (fingers crossed), for Monday, August 28, 2006. Adair County High School can be seen at the top of the photo. On the right, the blue building is the partially completed Athletic Building. Everyone who has visited Adair County Elementary School seems to agree that it is one the kids will love and the community will be proud to show off to prospective new residents, professional people, and employers. The new Columbia Western Bypass will run parallel to the front of the school at a point fairly close to the bottom of this picture.
