M & M: A Majestic Acres Prize Buck

2005-09-03 - Flat Woods, KY - Photo Staff. M & M a two-and-a-little-more-year-old 100% Boer goat (with papers) at Eddie Darnell's Majestic Acres, Joann Lane in Flat Woods, had no time to pose for a picture Saturday. Head down, he was too busy restoring his energy. This is the season when bucks follow the Biblical admonition to multiply and replenish the earth, and M & M is said to be enthusiastically doing his part. In between matings, he is intent on satisfying a ravenous appetite. M & M's name comes from the two farms which originally owned him, Majestic Acres and Mount Jolly Farm (Metcalfe County). Now the big fellow is owned outright by Majestic Acres. Boer goats are prized for their excellent meat production. The 190-head, mostly-Boer Majestic Acres herd is considered the best in Adair County.
