Birds of Kentucky: Mute Swan
 2025-04-16 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. A mute swan spotted on Lake Shelby this week. Mute swans are non-migratory, but occasionally end up outside their established range due to weather or food scarcity. According to the Wikipedia entry for Cygnus olor, "The mute swan is one of the heaviest extant flying birds."
