Parakeet at Holmes Bend - needs to get home!

2023-09-29 - Adair County, KY - Photo from Kelly Caldwell.

There is a little white parakeet here at Holmes Bend. He has a blue tag on his foot. He is definitely a lost pet.

He won’t survive in the wild. We need to find his owners. We can’t catch him.

2023-09-29 - Downtown Columbia, KY .
Zinnias may be my favorite of all the flowers that have graced the Public Square in Columbia this season. They are staying colorful and strong as fall gets started. This view takes in the Columbian Theater sign reminding us the planned opening of the restored building - it has been placed on hold by the Adair School District. We hope to hear some positive news soon. - LW

2023-09-28 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Marsha Shirley.
Marsha writes, "Thursday September 28, 2023, will be my sweet Grandpa's 97th birthday! Most Adair countians know him from his years at Napa Auto Parts. We, his family, know him as Pap, Pa, and Poppy. This year he became a great-great grandfather! We are so thankful for him--his faith, wisdom, grit and of course his witty humor. Happy Birthday Pa Fred!"
