I've learned over the years that Older Buildings with Character should be photographed the minute you notice them, because they often fall to progress before you make it back with more time, in better light, with a better camera, etc. So I grabbed this photo on a recent fall afternoon, of the small green building that sits beside what was Leland Grant's Grocery on Liberty Road, without time to get any important details about its history. Trucks have hardest time during festivals 2023-11-01 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. There has to be a better way for big trucks to get around downtown Columbia than this. City Police directed drivers into the small alley that is is use when the Public Square is closed off for special events like Treats on the Town. Maybe we can hear from some who drive through town how they avoid the congestion at festival and celebration times.
