Mary Frances May addresses CU Day at Columbia Baptist

Columbia Baptist Church member Mary Frances May spoke to the Campbellsville University day congregation after being surprised with the presentation of CU's prestigious Leadership Award. May, is a longtime trustee of the school. President Michael V. Carter, far right, acknowledged her service, and that of fellow congregant H. Hunter Durham, who also served on the CU Board of Trustees. Others above, from left, are CU Vice President for Finance Otto Tenant; CU Professor of Theology and Transitional Pastor of Columbia Baptist Church Dr. G. Ted Turner, and CU Vice President for Academics Frank Cheatham and CU Vice President for Church and External Relations John Chowning. The theme of the day was service to others; the "shoeboxes" lined up in front of the lectern are for Operation Christmas Child, a joint effort of Columbia Baptist Church, Lindsey Wilson College, and Campbellsville University.

Gracious Hosts CU luncheon: Dr. Anthony Grant, Keena Grant

Dr. Anthony Grant and Keena Grant were hosts to an after church lunch for Campbellsville University alumni and special guests from Campbellsville University, including University President Dr. Michael V. Carter and Mrs. Carter, following Campbellsville University Day services at the Columbia Baptist Church on November 14, 2010. The event was at Dr. and Mrs. Grant's beautiful home on the old Schuler farm on Fairplay RD. Over 40 were in attendance. The dinner was catered by Barbara Overstreet.

Operation Christmas Child: kickoff from Columbia Baptist Church

Operation Christmas Child was kicked off at the Columbia Baptist Church, Sunday night, November 14, 2010, with the blessing of the gift boxes. The church is paying for postage to ship all of the boxes from both Campbellsville University and Lindsey Wilson College. Leslie Carver, Alexandria, KY, represented CU and Fred Warren, Columbia, KY, represented Lindsey Wilson College.
