Patriot Guard riders Above in no particular order, from Adair and Cumberland Counties who attended were: Steve Burris, Sue Burris, Jeff Schorman, Ron Griffith, Jimmy Walker, Mark Polston, CR Drake, Terri Drake, and Pat Hare. Members of VFW Post 6097 also participated in the event, which was spearheaded by Columbia Historian Chris Bennett, after hearing the story told by Alan W. Reed, then a student in Liberty, KY, and who visited the crash scene minutes after it occurred.

Ham Radio Field Day at Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Dept.

First at the Ham Radio Field Day at the Breeding Area Fire Department Ham Radio Field Day were, from left Alex Burkett, Breeding, KY; Tim Frey, Breeding, KY; Robert Roeder, Jamestown, KY; Roger Shepard, Jamestown, KY; and Don Munsey and his wife Wanda Munsey of Ingle, Pulaski County, KY. The Field Day started at 12pm noon and continues throughout a 24 hour period. A total of about 50 Ham Operators and 50 visitors were expected to attend, including three Boy Scout Troops from Jamestown and Russell Springs, KY. The public is welcome to attend to learn more about being amateur radio operators and about the critical role the radio operators can play in a time of emergency when other lines of communication are unavailable.
