Lindsey Wilson Upward Bound members help Rotary

2012-06-26 - Columbia, KY - Photo by George Kolbenschlag. Three area students from the Upward Bound program at Lindsey Wilson played a large role in the Columbia Rotary Club's radio auction Monday. They served as "bid runners" keeping the telephone bids moving between those Rotarians answering phones and those feeding information to radio listeners. The Rotary auction had a successful first night Monday and will continue this evening (Tuesday, June 26, 2012) from 6pm-9pmCT. The auction is simulcast on WAIN (93.5 FM) and WHVE (92.7 FM). From left are Destiny Willliams, Campbellsville, KY; Courtney Adkins, Clinton County, KY; and Katie Passmore, Russell Springs. KY. The three all graduated from high school this year and will attend Lindsey Wilson as full time students in the fall. The Upward Bound program seeks to provide high school students with better opportunities to attend college. A core feature of the program is a six week summer program where high school students take college prep classes and participate in character building actiivities. - George Kolbenschlag
