July 4, 2012 Collision Scene at Greensburg Street, Bypass

2012-07-04 - Columbia Veterans Bypass, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Another view of the collision scene shortly after the impact,
this one showing the positions of the 1996 Toyota Tacoma from Russell County, on Greensburg Street, and the late model Blue 2009 Ford from Columbia, KY, before many of the early responders had arrived. The collision was heard by many in attendance at the All Churches Fourth of July picnic at Jim Blair Park, but only a swinging warning light sensor could be seen from that vantage point. (Note: earlier caption information has been corrected. -EW)

Mike Watson History Mystery: Where is it?

2012-07-04 - Adair County, KY - Photo Mike Watson.
Mike Watson sends another History Mystery photo. This one, he says, is hiding in plain sight, but most won't know. If you know, let us know. Then, when Mike Watson sends "the rest of the story," the significance of the Adair County Artifact, we'll post the responses - especially those who add a note about the marker which others, even Mike Watson, might not know. And no one on the planet appreciates adding to his store of historic information more than Mike Watson. He's been a diligent researcher all his life, but says one of his biggest thrills is to learn new details he'd never known, and it happens every day. - CM
