Scenic Cumberland Co., KY: Signs welcome travelers

2012-07-08 - KY 61, Adair/Cumberland Co. line, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Leaving Adair County, KY going into Cumberland on KY 61, there's a relatively new sign welcoming visitors to the vacation in Cumberland County. On the back side, the sign says to departing visitors, "Catch you again." Cumberland County seems to be doing all it can to take advantage of the vastly improved accessibility with the latest improvements in the highway. On the opposite side of the road, there's no corresponding sign welcoming northbound traffic into Adair County.

Fudge isn't saying exactly where he discovered the evidence (lower right photo, somewhat smallened to protect the squeamish) of the 119 lb, blackberry eating bear, but a few will recognize the view of greater Inroad from Insurance Hill (large photo). Well, it is somewhere in there. The upper photo is from the Downtown Inroad Bridge over Crocus Creek. The middle right photo is of an earlier photo by BJ Fudge, showing a bear in Crocus Creek Bottom.
