Scenic Green Co., KY: Roadway through rock cliff

This rock cliff sits along Russell Creek in Green County on hwy 68 Edmonton road. It' s about 200 feet from where the Russell empties into the Green River, right at the Russell Creek Bridge, at the southwest corner of the span. It's no longer accessible to the public, however. Rogers Scholars scholars, second class clean up lake area

More than 60 teenagers from 42 counties recently converged on the shores of Lake Cumberland to pick up trash and debris.The students were members of The Center for Rural Development's elite Rogers Scholars program, which identifies and nurtures leadership and entrepreneurial skills in rising high school juniors from Southern and Eastern Kentucky.Rogers Scholars perform a community service project with Pride, the region's environmental cleanup and education organization, during their week at The Center. This year, they cleaned the shore near Conley Botto Resort Marina in Wayne County. The second class, with a total of 32 students, picked up 38 bags of trash and two tires on July 11. Clean-up crew at Conley Bottom

$500 raised for St. Jude
 2012-07-25 - Photo from Chris Wilson. Chris Wilson thanks everyone for Supporting the St. Jude's Annual Event! Chris Wilson writes, "I would like to thank the generous folks who donated and purchased items at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Auction held July 14, 2012 in conjunction with the Avery Ashbrook Estate Auction. We were able to raise approximately $500 to benefit St. Jude's Children Hospital that specializes in the treatment and prevention of Childhood Cancer. The generous donors for this auction were Ladies Mission quilting group of Millerfield Brethren in Christ Church, Mildred Wilson, Judy Stewart, anonymous pocket knife donor and Golden Rule-Wilson. The generous buyers at the auction are pictured with their merchandise from left Curtis Hill; Jean Luttrell, Russell County Judge Executive Gary Robertson; Sharon Burleson, Bruce Wilson; and not pictured is William Burton of Williams furniture who was still buying more items!
