Sharon Keltner kicks in for KNK for Millard Keltner family, church

2012-07-29 - F&FNB, 124 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Sharon Keltner, center with envelope presented a monetary donation on behalf of the Millard Keltner family and Tarters Chapel United Methodist Church to the Kids Need Kicks drive, which is finishing up this year's drive on Monday, July 30, 2012. Accepting for Kids Need Kicks are, left Mindy Smith and son Braxton, and right Cricket McCloud, the founder or KNK. Although the committee is assured of meeting the needs of the applicants for the Kids Need Kicks program, there is still an urgent need for funds for emergencies during the year. Kids Need Kicks annual goal is 300 pairs of new shoes and many more pairs of socks. $30 buys a new pair of shoes, and $10 buys 10 pairs of socks. The rewards, smiles on the faces of the kids, and readiness for school, makes it all worth the effort, Cricket McCloud says. If you would like to contribute to the ongoing fund Please make checks payable to "Family Resource Center" and mail to PO Box 242, Columbia, KY 42728. If you have any questions, please contact Cricket McCloud at (270) 385-9633 or Mindy Smith at (270) 250-6060.

Marsha Bennett, Knifley Christian Church kick in for KNK

2012-07-29 - F&FNB, 124 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Marsha Bennett, center presented a monetary donation and two pairs of shoes on behalf of Knifley Christian Church to Mindly Smith and son Braxton, and Cricket McCloud, for the Kids Need Kicks Shoe Program. A surge of gifts before the deadline, Monday, July 30, 2012, has been really encouraging, the Kids Need Kicks founder says. Now, monetary donations will help the most to get this year's drive to 300 pairs of shoes and all the socks the group can buy for Adair County students whose families can't afford new footwear. $30 buys a good quality pair of shoes. $10 is enough to pay for 10 pairs of socks.
