Water truck keeps down dust created by trackhoe
 2012-08-22 - Adair County School District Campus - Photo by Ed Waggener . Site work was continuing as the 6pmCT time approached this evening, Wednesday, August 22, 2012. A trackhoe was stirring up clouds of dust which was being suppressed by a water truck at the site of the newest Adair County School building, which is to replace the six decades old Colonel William Casey.

ACHS Site Based Council will ask for Ag assistant
 2012-08-22 - ACHS, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Adair County High School Site Based Decision Making Council, seated at the table will recommend to Superintendent Alan Reed that an academic position will be added following the retirement of ag teacher Terry Harvey at tonight's special called meeting. The vote was 4-2, with from left members Mike Godsey, Marsha Riddick, Troy Young and Kevin Robertson voting for the action, and Melinda Franklin and Sandy Pyles voting against. The council will ask for an instructional assistant for the agriculture department to assist the two agriculture teachers. Principal Young said that Superintendent Reed has indicated that he will recommend creating the assistant position.

The curvy attachment is the FM antenna. The tower is 500 feet tall," Larry Smith, Operations manager at the station writes.

Epicurean Kentuckian: White Beans with Kale and Sausage
 2012-08-22 - Photo by Pen. A few ounces of sliced smoked sausage provides a ton of flavor. Cook the sausage, then add a little garlic, diced carrot and green onion and sautee for a couple of minutes before adding the kale. Once the kale is wilted, add a can of white beans and allow to simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasonally. Add a little vinegar and some red pepper flakes to taste after plating.
