Hayley Knifley - Adair County High School Drum Major

The Adair Band will kick off the marching season with the annual Mark Twain Exhibition this Saturday, August 25, at the ACHS Football Field, 623 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY, with the event scheduled to begin at 3:45pmCT. Fourteen (14) visiting bands from across the Commonwealth will ascend on the Adair County Schools campus. The current reigning State Champions Adair County Band will perform at 8pmCT, followed by the LWC Blue Raider Band at 8:15pmCT. Admission is $8.00. The public is invited to attend and see a full day of marching band excellence! - Teresa Bright

Bank of Columbia $750,000 loan to WRH completed

At 1:30pmCT paperwork was completed and the proceeds of the $750,000 loan from the Bank of Columbia to Adair County Fiscal Court was handed to Adair County Treasurer Barry Corbin, left by Bank of Columbia Vice President and Senior Loan Officer Mark Dykes. Also present were Adair County Judge Ann Melton, who signed loan papers, and Adair County Hospital Board of Trustees member and secretary, Richard Grant, who deposited the check and an equal amount from the United Citizens Bank, before 2pmCT, today, so that payments the hospital needs to make immediately could be begun.

United Citizens Bank $750,000 loan completed

At 1pmCT, Thursday, August 23, 2012, all paperwork was complete and the $750,000 check was delivered. At the bank were, from left Adair County Treasurer Barry Corbin, United Citizens Bank officials Philip Watson and Mindy Coffey, Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton, and Adair County Hospital Board Member and newly elected secretary Richard Grant. The loan closing followed a 12pm noon CT, Special Called meeting of the Adair County Hospital Board of Trustees, to authorize the transactions.
