Playground Equipment being moved to Jim Blair Park
2013-10-08 - JAIS, 202 Gen. John Adair School, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. A lot of volunteer work was being given to a great goal today. Fifth District Magistrate Billy Dean Coffey, who is also a member of the Adair County Parks and Recreation Board, brought a truck with trailer from his Clay Ridge Landscaping business and worked with volunteering Adair County Road Department employees to disassemble playground equipment from the non-discontinued John Adair Intermediate School and Col. William Casey Elementary to move to Jim Blair Park. Equipment which would have cost thousands of dollars, new, was donated by the Adair County Board of Education to the community park at the September Board meeting. CJE Ann Melton said that the equipment is mostly in good-as-new condition, with only slight fading to some of the finish.

The Sigogglin Bridge over Powder Creek
2013-10-08 - Clear Springs Road, District 2, Adair County, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. The Adair County Road Department is quickly building the new bridge over Powder Creek on Clear Springs Road in Magistrate Daryl Flatt's District (2). County built bridges are now a bit higher since the State requires design by engineering firms. This one special. Built at an angle, it may be the most sigogglin one in the county - maybe anywhere. The photo was taken Monday afternoon, October 7, 2013. The buildings down creek are on the Benjie Kimbler place. Paired photo - See also Strategizing at the Powder Creek Bridge project
