Colonel Casey land from the air
2013-11-14 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. There's a beautiful bright green rectangular symmetry around the Col. Wm Casey House, now the home of Marla Shelley's Casey House Antiques, 1081 Edmonton Road, Columbia, KY. The roadway on the far side is the Louie B. Nunn Parkway; on the near side KY 80 West/Edmonton Road. Going to the right in the photo, there's a large excavation fronting on Bliss Road, and to the right of the cleared earth, a clump of trees. That's where Colonel Casey is buried. (You're maybe looking for a 32 statue of Ken Hill as Col. Casey but it isn't there. Just the clump of trees. But Click Here to see photo, Ken Hill as Col. Casey, assisting Mr.Richard Phelps as Nathan Montgomery, giving "those Pelhams" a good whupping in a 2011 Silent City.) Only yesterday, an acquaintance asked about the grave site, and why local citizens haven't done more to mark the place. Also in the center of the photo, the landmark "Black Barn," on Bliss Mayor Kenneth Scott's farm, and boyhood homeplace.
