Life in the Holler: The frightening, bookstarter tree . . .

2014-02-02 - Topside, The Holler, Old Clearsprings Road, Ozark, KY - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne.
We have a few trees like this scattered throughout the holler. Every day I have the same thought when I see them. When I write my book the opening will be: As she coward in the hollow of the maple tree Shana held her breath as to not alert them of her location. It was the perfect place to hide and rest for just a moment. Fatigue was setting in and she found her mind drifting back to the days when her life was simple. A life empty of the blood thirsty killers currently roaming the hills and holler of her youth . . . - SHAMARIE CLAIBORNE. Life in the Holler: Holding on to its beauty, during freeze

2014-02-02 - The Holler, Old Clearspring Roads, Ozark, KY - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne.
As cold as it has been and even with most of the holler frozen over,
this little beauty has held on to some of its blooms. It reminded me that if you look you can always find life. No matter how cold, how frozen, how gray the days have been. God is always working on the next season. Yet, he is thoughtful enough to leave us little reminders of yesterday and hope for tomorrow. - Shamarie Claiborne
