Comeback Kid: Terry Hadley wins in Adair 7th
 2014-05-21 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Terry Hadley avenged a 2010 defeat by Magistrate Billy Rowe, reversing the order in 2014. Hadley received 44.90%, 352 votes, to incumbent Magistrate Billy Rowe's 39.92%, 313 votes; and Chad Moore's 15.18%, 119 votes. Hadley served one term as the 7th District Magistrate 2007-2011, before losing to Rowe. He faces another former Magistrate, Democrat Terry Farris, in the November 4, 2014, General Election. Hadley's father, the late Ben Hadley, was also an Adair County Magistrate, serving in the Third District as a Democrat. - EW

Street party in Campbellsville
 2014-05-21 - E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Larry Smith. "This was just a small a part of the crowd which turned Max Wise's victory in the 16th Senate District race into a street party, rivaling the 4th of July. People were here from all over the district to join the celebration. Brothers BBQ on Main Street furnished BBQ for the party, and Mayor Tony Young cordoned off Main Street for the occasion. Wise carried 4 of the 7 counties - winning Taylor County by 9 to 1, and Adair County and Russell County by 2-to-1 margins." - LARRY SMITH, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications (The WAVE, 92.7 FM, and the 99.9 FM the Big Dawg).

The incumbent sheriff had no opposition in the 2014 Democratic Primary. He'll face Republican Josh Brockman in the November 4, 2014, general election.

Mike Stephens, Democratic CJE, celebrates with brother
 2014-05-21 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Michael Lee Stephens left celebrated a Democratic Primary victory Tuesday night, May 20, 2014, with brother, Richard Stephens, who was following the results of the Kentucky Senate District 16 race. Stephens won the Democratic nomination for Adair County Judge Executive, by 197 votes, receiving 753 votes to his opponent's, Joe Rogers' 556. Stephens will face two term Republican incumbent CJE Ann Melton in the November 4, 2014, general election. Melton had no primary opposition. The Stephenses were headed to Campbellsville afterward, for the street party for Senator-Elect Max Wise.

 2014-05-20 - Main Street, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Larry Smith. Campbellsville celebrated into the night with the victory by Max Wise in the Kentucky 16th Senate District. He's getting a big hug from 51st District Representative Bam Carney the middle of Main Street. Brothers BBQ restaurant furnished barbecue and the party was originally supposed to to held inside. When the large restaurant proved too small, Mayor Tony Young had two blocks of Main Street cordoned off. Josh Brockman wins Republican nomination for sheriff
 2014-05-20 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Josh Brockman, above with his wife Amy, overwhelming won the race for the Republican nomination for Sheriff, taking 67.70 percent of the vote with a total of 2,670, to 688 for Chris Janes (17.44%) and Justin Claywell's 586 (14.86%). Brockman now a Columbia City Police Officer, will face incumbent Sheriff Harrison Moss in the November General Election. Brockman's vote total was the largest of the evening, but just barely. Max Wise, candidate State Senate amassed 2,665, just 5 votes shy of Brockman's.
