Quilts on the move, from Cadiz & Owensboro to Columbia, KY
2014-07-03 - 130 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by CM Staff . The Quilts on the Move July 4th weekend, spearheaded in Adair County by the Columbia-Adair County Tourism Commission, is quickly adding displays. This one, seen through the reflections, is in the law office of Durham & Zornes, and includes three quilts, two from Ellen Zornes maternal grandmother in Cadiz, KY, and a third one from her paternal grandmother in Owensboro, KY. The three women reflected in the center of the photo are Adair Heritage President Ellen Zornes who created the display; Katie Durham, ACHS '14, a Durham & Zornes employee, who is bound for the University of Kentucky this fall; and D&Z office manager Vickie Thompson. The fuzzy headed photographer - so named by the late Bill Beard - holding a camera is from CM (though some may see that image as one of the late Mayor Reeves Kerbow eating a hamburger and approaching 'his' pinball machine, which it could have been when the building was the G & M Grill) and the wonderful reflected back drop including the Fountain, Mouser Real Estate, the Bardin Building, Murrell Burton's Burton Real Estate & Auction, and the Stanziano Law office.
