Cap'n Hailey
2014-07-13 - Shelby County, KY - Photo by Pen. At left, Hailey poses with her new "jacket-life" and a paddle, ready for an outing on Clear Creek. At right, she watches her brothers in another canoe, as they continue their lengthy discussions about who gets to be captain of that vessel. That issue remained unsettled for the entire outing. 2014-07-13 - Tebbs Bend Road, Taylor Co., KY - Photo CM Staff Photo. Marker with longer narrative errected July 4, 1989 by the Michigan Historical Society at the Tebbs Bend Cemetery, on Tebbs Bend Road, in Southern Taylor County near the Adair County Line. (A note: Does anyone remember how the late Miss Noma Dix Winston would have told the story in one of her U.S. history class at the Lindsey Wilson College in the 1950s. The South seemed to always nearly win in her version. - EW)
