He will be playing in the Diamond Showdown, Saturday-Sunday, August 9-10, 2014, (1st games of day start at 8amCT/9amET), at the American Legion Park, 725 W. Broadway Street, Lawrenceburg, KY. Brian mainly plays catcher, but pitches and plays third, as well. I think he gets a lot of baseball talent from his grandfather, the late Gerald Rucker of Columbia, KY. - Lisa White

Todd Spalding, in recent FM 99.9 interview


2014-07-22 - 101 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The Big Dawg, 99.9 FM radio. Todd Spalding, Lebanon, KY, was interviewed on the Big Dawg, 99.9 FM, yesterday, and a couple of weeks ago in the photo above. Since the withdrawal of Tim Cocanougher, from the 11th Judicial Circuit Division I Judges race, Spalding is unopposed in the 2014 General Election for the position. Barring highly unlikely circumstances, will be sworn in as the new 11th Circuit Court/Div I Judge in January, 2015, succeeding Judge Dan Kelley, who is retiring. In the interview, Spalding praised Adair/Casey Circuit Judge Judy Vance, saying she is setting the standard for running a court. - Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications

MCHS ('66) friends meet for lunch


2014-07-21 . Metcalfe County High School friends (class of 1966) met for lunch in Glasgow recently. Standing in back from left, are: Patty Hurt, Elaine Wilson, Peggy McCoy and Ella Lee Wilson. In front from left, are: Jackie Coffey, Dotty Nagel, Judy Doyle, Rebecca England, Patricia Cummins, Jean Nunn, Linda Waggener and Kathy Nason. The next planned meeting is September 13 at noon in Sulphur Well.
