Scenic Adair Co., KY: A place of great beauty in Old Milltown

2014-08-13 - Milltown, District 5, Adair Co., KY - Photo CM Staff photo. It's picture postcard pretty, this brick building from the glory days when Milltown was a thriving Adair County retail center, lovingly allowed to choose its own time for final leave taking. The building is on KY 768, Milltown Road at this point, about one mile west of KY 61. (Historical details, and confirmation on whether the attic plant is, as it appears from the photo, a trumpet vine, would be appreciated.) - CM. Clicking Read More accesses letter that building may have once been town barber shop.

Only one in fashion, if AC Fiscal Court had been held in Spain

2014-08-13 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. This footwear was likely the only in the Adair Fiscal Court meeting which would have been stylishly modern - if the meeting had been held in Spain, where the sensible idea of asymmetry has found a foothold. It's also in keeping with a younger generation statement in hosiery. The feet belong to a known Democrat, whose private coordinator is Miss Victoria (aka Victoria Pike), another known Democrat. CM agreed to keep her initials, Cynthia Rowe, somewhat anonymous, though we endorse the concept and the boldness.

Papaw hidden under pile of stuffed pets

2014-08-12 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. One would never in a thousand years guess who just buried poor Papaw in the world's biggest pile of stuffed animals. For Hailey and accomplice cousin Tillie, it was the most hilarious thing that ever happened - even funnier they thought a few moments later when even his face was covered. Papaw is maternal grandfather Ken Smith, of Flat Woods, Greenup Co., KY. Hailey's latest wisdom is when she prefaced a report to her father with, "When I was your age . . . " The little girl has been quite well received, both in the Smith clan and Waggeners, all of whom seem to like her right well - including paternal Grandparents Linda and Ed Waggener, Columbia, KY. Granddad, Ed Waggener
