Lindsey Wilson Water tower in twilight glow

2014-08-28 - Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY - Photo CM staff photo.
A dramatic element in the Columbia skyline:
The Columbia/Adair County Utilities District water tower at Lindsey Wilson College. It was scheduled for restoration, but delays in approving a grant at a time when company's were begging for work create an $800-$1,000,000 cost overrun leaving the Lindsey Wilson project a casualty of the improving economy. In the early morning and evening light the tower's problems show up more. (See: CAUD meeting report, August 14, 2014 details on decision to drop tower renovation)

2014-08-27 - Burkesville Road & Edmonton Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
There was quite a long delay
for other traffic as some 300 Corvettes rolled out of Walmart Shopping Center at around 1pmCT. Nobody seem to mind, as the parade passed as in a private review. Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss held other traffic for several light cycles to allow the visitors from the NC/VA Corvette Club to go through the signal non-stop, headed for the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. It is believed to have been the largest number of Corvettes ever in Adair County at one time.
