Horse (gelding) loose at foot of Nell Hill

2014-08-29 - District 4, Adair Co., KY - Photo by Jerry Walker.

There is a horse (gelding) loose around the intersection of Chestnut Grove Road and West Highway 80 (about a mile before the Adair/Metcalfe Countyline). The horse is dark reddish brown in color and has a blaze down his face. He is grazing in the pastures on the left side of the road (as one is heading toward the Metcalfe County line); there are no fences. He is not wearing a halter and is skittish, and we have not been able to catch him. Anyone knowing the owner of this horse, please contact Jerry Walker at 270-432-3157. - Jerry Walker

Plum Point School, 1947

2014-08-28 - Plum Point - Photo courtesy George Rice. George Rice writes, "Found this old picture of Plum Point School 1947 Class. Good friend Bradley Arnold shared the picture with me and Josephine Hubbard gave me the identity of each student. The school was located near where the old 551 crossed Robertson Creek Bridge. I would like to have a photo of all of the old school buildings still standing in Adair County. Those school buildings are a part of Adair County history where the teachers strived to educate the young people of Adair County in that era of time."
